Ngah Ibrahim was known as the Muntri of Larut and he established the first modern system of administration in Perak. It had a police force, a judge, a magistrate, a treasurer and a clerk. He was the son of Long Ja'afar who sometimes is accredited as the founder of Taiping. In 1875 the first British Resident of Perak, James Birch was assasinated and Ngah Ibrahim, together with others, was implicated in the killing. He was exciled to the Seychelles in 1877 and never returned to Perak. He died in Singapore in 1895.. ....will upload more photos Kota Ngah Ibrahim soon....
